Emma's Kitchen

Recipes, made joyful

Good food, shared simply — one recipe at a time.

Hi, I'm Emma. I cook, I write recipes, and I share them with people who want dinner to feel a little more like a good idea and a little less like a chore.

My story

It started at 21, with a small kitchen and a lot of curiosity.

I was twenty-one, cooking for the pure pleasure of it. Weeknight experiments, weekend projects, a notebook slowly filling up with things that worked and plenty that didn't. There was no plan behind any of it — just a genuine love for the process, and for the moment a recipe finally clicks into place.

So I started sharing. A dish here, a technique there, the small tips I wished someone had told me sooner. What surprised me most wasn't that people watched — it was that they cooked. They sent photos of their own versions, asked questions, told me what they'd changed. That exchange became the best part of my day.

Little by little, the passion outgrew the free time around it. Testing recipes properly takes hours. Writing them clearly takes more. At some point the choice became obvious, and I made it official: cooking stopped being the thing I did after work and became the work itself.

Today it's my full-time craft. I develop every recipe from scratch, test it until it's genuinely reliable, and write it so that it works in a real kitchen on a real Tuesday evening. Nothing fussy, nothing you need a specialist shop for — just food that's worth the time you give it.

How I work

  1. 1

An idea, usually from a craving

Most recipes start with something I want to eat, or a question someone asked me. Seasons help too — they narrow things down in the best way.

  2. 2

    Tested until it's boringly reliable

Every recipe gets made again and again, adjusting ratios and timings, until it works the same way in my kitchen as it will in yours.

  3. 3

    Written to be actually followed

Clear steps, honest timings, and the little details that make the difference. No mystery ingredients, no guesswork.

  4. 4

    Shared, and then improved

The feedback that comes back is part of the recipe. Some of my favourite versions exist because someone suggested a tweak.

Let's work together

I'm looking for someone to help me film my recipes.

The cooking side I've got covered. The filming side is where I'd love a hand — someone who can help me capture recipes properly, so the finished videos look as good as the food tastes.

You might be a videographer, a photographer branching into video, a film student, or simply someone with a good eye and a camera they know well. Experience with food isn't essential; care and curiosity are. This can be a regular collaboration or a single shoot to see how we get along — I'm open, and happy to discuss what works for both of us.
